This is a story I did for a scene-writing contest. I am excited to show it to you. The characters and the setting are not my own this time- they were created for the contest by the one running the contest. However, The writing of the story itself is my own. Please enjoy it, okay?

Neve glared at the broken mirror, then at Aden, then back at the mirror. The world he'd been shown was very different, and he didn't like the difference. Aden, however, was also feeling the pressure- the longer the mirror stayed broken, the more his world disappeared. A sigh escaped his lips as he thought about it. He let a hand flow through his black hair, ruffled by nature. He watched Neve's constantly moving gaze, "Worrying like that won't solve anything, you know," He huffed quickly. He stared at the mirror soon after saying such. "You said you're an ice mage, right? Can't you freeze the pieces together?"
"If I do that, it'll break within seconds if we touch it. And the ice would eventually thaw." Neve looked at Aden with a sigh. The boy wore strange clothing, in Neve's eyes, and his ideas weren't all that more normal. "Anything in the corridor that could've helped us? You walked through there, didn't you?"
"The only thing in the corridor is dust."
"Dust...That wouldn't help, would it?"
"I doubt it. There's enough dust in here if we needed dust." Aden's voice was a sarcastic one as he kept his gaze where it was. If Aden's ideas were useless, then so were Neve's, it would seem. "If we fix the mirror, you'll get home. If we don't, everything here vanishes... Quite a load to put on two strangers, isn't it?" He put a hand on the mirror. The mirror began to glow slightly.
"Why is it glowing?" Neve glanced and noticed, putting a hand on it as well. A voice called out from nowhere, and there was no one around- however, he knew it wasn't Aden's voice.
"Combine your powers and freeze this place. If time shall freeze, you shall pass."
"If time shall freeze, you shall pass...?" Neve looked at Aden with a blank expression. "Combine your powers and freeze this place...But what powers?"
"And what does it mean if time shall freeze, you shall pass?"
"It's a good hint but...What does it mean?" While Neve questioned it, Aden noticed the way the glow had gotten bigger when Neve put his hand on it. Removing his own hand, the glow lessened. "Neve, give me your hand. Give me your hand and use your magic."
"What? But what'll that do?"
"I've got an idea." Aden smiled and watched Neve do as he was told. Within moment, they glowed uncontrollably. The mirror began to be replaced. The pieces that had been left even near the mirror began to vanish.
"Huh? What's going on?" The empty mirror began to glow, and the voice returned. "Time has frozen. The gate has opened. You too shall pass."
"The gate has opened?" Aden looked at the glow from the mirror. It was glowing like a ray of sunshine coming through, despite there being no window. "Neve...I think you need to walk through the mirror to get home."
"What will happen when I do that? Will things here go back to normal too?"
"Don't worry about that. Just go. They're waiting for you at home, aren't they?" Aden smiled a bit, looking at the mirror. Neve let go of his hand and began to walk towards the mirror. When he looked back, Aden simply waved. "Take care of yourself. You won't be forgotten."
Neve nodded and went through the mirror. A flash flew through the building from the mirror, the mirror the epicenter. Then, there was nothing. The room was empty. Neve had made it to his own world- but the world he'd been to was yet to be created. The world of the mirror had only been a canvas- and those of Neve's tribe were just starting to really create that world themselves.
